Wedding Bells? Daily Bible Reading -- Psalm 45

Good Morning World!  Another nice, quiet, crisp morning here in the northern hemisphere.  Still no snow, but it seems there may be some in the forecast.   We will just have to wait and see.

Daily it seems there is a greater amount of activity as we get closer to actually moving the store we are buying.  Packing boxes of stock, getting paint ready, picking out colors, carpet, counter top and the like are all part of this sometimes stressful time.  Still, in it all I find great comfort in these moments in the morning when I can connect with Jesus and all of you.  It's a moment of peace, quiet, tranquility and perspective.  One thing in life we cannot afford to loose is our perspective.  Thank God for this opportunity to spend time together!

Psalm 45

After reading this chapter all I could think of was wedding bells!   Part of the title of this chapter says that it is a "Song of Loves", which implies that there is something romantic going on in this scripture.  Then we read and find that there is a king and queen involved.  What a wonderful picture is draw in the words of this song!  A valiant king who can vanquish all his foes with sword and arrows.  A beautiful queen who makes all others feel secondary in her presence.  It speaks of a wedding to me between two love struck people, and they will change the world together.

What a beautiful description of the love between Jesus Christ and his mistress the Church.  There is no greater warrior or king than Jesus Christ.  There is nothing more beautiful than the Church the mother of us all!  Their relationship together has changed the course of history for ever!  Sometimes I think that we forget that we are apart of the greatest love story ever told; the God of the universe caring enough about His creation that he also created Himself a wife, and our mother - the Church!  Sorry folks our mother isn't the earth.  That is a thing that God created for us to live by.  No, our real mother is the Church.  A spiritual being that loves and nurtures us.  A spiritual mother who ushers us into the very presence of our Saviour Jesus Christ.  At the altars of her many assemblies she gives birth to more children daily!

Let us make the name of Jesus known so that it will be remembered to all generations.  Let us make the name of Jesus known so that  all the people shall praise Him for ever and ever!

Yours for the beauty of the Church,
Pastor Fred

A Prayer for Canada:

This week Lord Jesus we bring the country of Canada. Let the revival of your Word and Name sweep across this vast dominion. Let all ethnic groups that now call this great land home become hungry for something more, and find YOU! Let the Church arise to become the bastion of Truth that it is meant to be. Let you people become the light and power that spreads your Gospel throughout all this land!
We ask this all in the Name of Jesus Christ -- Amen!
